c. That CCD students be held to the same expectations of sportsmanship, conduct and academic eligibility as their Catholic school teammates.
d. That each CCD student may not play for two different schools during that particular season. However, any student already playing for 2 schools during the 1997-1998 season may be allowed to remain playing until their eligibility otherwise expires.
Before being allowed to participate in the first practice session of a sport, the following information must be on file in the principal's office for each participant. The DAC Registration Form MUST be on file.
a. Written evidence that the student has permission to participate. This must be signed by the parent or guardian.
b. Written evidence that the student has passed a physical examination. This must be signed by a doctor.
c. Written evidence that the student is covered by a family medical insurance policy. This statement must list the name of the company and be signed by the parent or guardian. If the student is not covered by a family policy, the student must take out a school accident insurance policy.
3. TEAM ROSTER: All rosters and Diocesan Athletic fees must be submitted to the League Commissioners and DAD two weeks before the first regular season game of any sport. The rosters must be signed by both the Pastor and the Principal. Pastors and Principals must also approve and submit to the League Commissioners any late additions to the roster before they may participate in league games.
FAILURE TO SUBMIT ROSTER FORMS IN A TIMELY FASHION MAY RESULT IN SUSPENSION OR FORFEITURE.
4. TRANSFER STUDENTS ELIGIBILITY: Students attending Parochial Schools not having a team in an approved sport may declare and play for a school fielding such a team provided they participate with the same school in other sports which their home school does not provide.
5. ACADEMIC ELIGIBILITY: Each school is expected to develop its own eligibility requirements for academics. Below is an example of a minimal requirement:
Athletic Policy: A grade of "D" or "F" with a "1" in effort in any subject will result in suspension from all school activities for two weeks beginning the following Monday after report cards are given out, unless report cards are given out on Monday. Upon second suspension, the student will be ineligible for the remainder of the school year. This policy applies to all extra curricular activities that are sponsored by the school and will be effective immediately. The only exception to the above rule shall be a special recommendation by the principal to the DAC (Diocesan Athletic Council). |
