OFFICERS
The membership shall elect a person to serve as Chair of the Diocesan Athletic Council who shall be responsible for convening and presiding at all meetings.
A Vice Chair shall be elected who shall preside in the absence of the Chair. The Vice Chair shall assume the Chair after each term of office.
The Secretary/Treasurer shall be elected and shall be responsible for recording the minutes of all meetings. The Secretary/Treasurer shall be responsible for notifying members of meetings as well as submitting financial reports as needed.
No two officers shall be directly affiliated with the same school.
The term of office shall be one year in length.
EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
The Executive committee shall be composed of the elected officers and shall direct the affairs of the Association. The Executive Committee shall have the ability to enforce rules and regulations as passed by the Diocesan Athletic Council. Executive Committee decisions are contingent on the approval of the Superintendent of Schools and shall be reported in writing at the next DAC meeting.
MEETINGS
The DAC shall meet no less than once per quarter as determined by need. The Chair may call meetings when in his/her judgment such meetings are necessary.
TRANSACTION OF BUSINESS QUORUM
For transacting business one half of the voting membership shall constitute a quorum. Each member shall have one vote. A majority of a quorum is necessary for passage of business transactions. Members may vote by written proxy submitted prior to the meeting. Questions requiring a formal vote shall, to the extent possible, be included in an agenda published in advance of the DAC meeting.
COMMITTEES
The establishment of Standing Committees may be made through consensus or vote of the DAC. The establishment of ad hoc committees shall be at the discretion of the DAC Chair. |
