a. Urge the fans at every opportunity to be polite, courteous and fair to the visiting team. Game assemblies, Classes informal meetings and community gatherings should be used for this type of education.

b. Display good sportsmanship, always maintaining poise and self control.

c. Teach his/her team sportsmanship and to play hard without using unethical practices. Never reprimand a player in an abusive manner.

d. Be a responsible host to the visiting team, coach, officials and crowd. Treat them as if they were guests in his/her own home.

e. Discipline and, if necessary, dismiss players who disregard good sportsmanship with permission from the school athletic director and the principal.

f. Never use profane language.

g. Treat the officials with respect.

h. Concentrate his/her efforts on controlling his/her own team and let the officials control the game.

i. Publicly shake hands with opposing coach before and after the game.

j. Help control and/or direct the behavior of the parents and fans.

k. Avoid "cutting" athletes whenever possible and assure that all children on the team receive adequate playing and practice time.

3. THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE PLAYERS:  A player should:

a. Treat officials and opponents with respect. Never argue with the officials or go through motions indicating a dislike for a decision.

b. Congratulate opponents in a sincere way following either victory or defeat.

c. Control temper at all times on and off the playing field or court.

4. THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CHEERLEADERS:  Cheerleaders'  functions are to make a positive contribution to good spectator reaction at an athletic contest and to create better relations between opposing supporters.

Cheerleaders should:

a. Give positive cheers, not aimed at antagonizing an opponent.

b. Act as representatives of the student body at athletic contests and realize that they are in a position to control reactions of the crowd.

c.  Prospective cheerleaders should be students respected by fellow students.

d. Be knowledgeable in the game they cheerlead in order to control crowd response.
