| LEAGUE NAME: PAROCHIAL SENIOR FORMATIVE GOLF LEAGUE
(6th, 7th- & 8th Grades) BASE RULES: TSSAA, Parochial League Specific Participant Guidelines SEASON: MARCH 1ST THROUGH MAY 15. PRACTICE MAY NOT BEGIN BEFORE MARCH 1ST. ELIGIBILITY 1. Team rosters must be submitted to the DAD before the first regular season game. Failure to submit will result in forfeiture of the first game. It may also result in suspension of the coach and forfeiture of future games. 2. It is the coach’s responsibility to control fans and/or parents during the games. 3. Each player participating in the Senior Formative League must meet eligibility requirements set forth by the Diocesan Athletic Council. 4. The Senior Formative League will be limited to students in the 6th, 7th and 8th grades. No children in K-5 will be eligible to participate in the Senior Formative League. All eligible children in participating schools should be allowed to participate. The Diocesan Athletic Committee admonishes “cutting”, and encourages the participation of all students who wish to play. LEAGUE RULES AND REGULATIONS 5. Total weekly organized team practices and game time shall not exceed a maximum of 6 hours. Any practice session shall not exceed 2 hours in length. A game shall count as 1 and 1/2 hours. The maximum number of game sessions and/or practice sessions shall not exceed 4 per week. 6. In Division I, each school shall submit team(s) consisting of no fewer than four, and no more than 7 players per team. All others will play individually in Division II, III, and VI. 7. In Division I tournament play, individual scores will be recorded, but only the four lowest scores will count toward the team total. 8. In order to accommodate all levels of experience, the league will be divided into four divisions, with experience, grade, and ability determining division placement. Division I is designed for the more experienced 7th and 8th grade players. This Division will play 9-hole events and are expected to score no higher than 55 for nine holes. Division VI is designed for the more experienced 6th grade players. Its purpose is to give those 6th graders with DI ability the opportunity to experience tournament golf at a higher level of competition. DVI will play 9-hole events and are expected to score no higher than 55 for nine holes. Division II is designed for experienced 6th, 7th and 8th grade players that score higher than 55 for nine holes. This Division will play 9-hole events on "Executive" type Par 3 courses. Division III is designed for 6th, 7th and 8th grade players that have little, or no, on-course experience. This Division will play a limited number of holes per event. 9. Division I and VI players will participate in both stroke and match play formats. Division II and III players will participate in stroke play events, only. 10. There will be a total of four tournaments scheduled during the season. The final tournament for Division I will be invitational based upon scores, etiquette, knowledge of the game, etc. Golf Guidelines |
