| 8. The DAC will coordinate game officials for all league games and tournaments. 9. Coaches will beejected from the gym on the 2nd technical. Any player or coach ejected from a game will be suspended from the next game. 10. Coaches will notify the opposing team before a game of any player(s) not participating in the game because of illness, injury, disciplinary reasons, etc. 11. In the regular season only, the clock will stop after the first 3 minutes of the 1st quarter, but play will continue until there is a dead ball. Scoring a basket is not considered a dead ball situation. The referee will stop play and both teams must substitute 5 new players, if they have 5 or more substitutes on the bench. If a team does not have 5 new players to substitute, then the opposing team will not have to substitute 5 players. Both teams will only be forced to substitute equal number of players. If a player fouls out during the first quarter, andy player on the bench may be substitited for that player. The opposing coach will have the option of substituting any player on their bench at that time, as well. In the case of injury, the injured player cannot be replaced by a player whos has already played in that quarter as long as there are other substitutes available. Teams with more than 10 players will be allowed to substitute during the required substitution quarter (1st), provided the same player does not play in both halves of the affected quarter. Mandatory substitutions are not time-outs. 12. Each quarter will be six minutes in length. 13. Warm-ups prior to game will be 6 minutes. 14. Uniforms with legal basketball numbers on the front and back are required. 15. The official ball for the boys will be a TSSAA Approved Men's Basketball, while the official ball for the girls will be a TSSAA Approved Women's Basketball. 16. In the event the score is tied at the end of regulation play, there shall be a 3 minute overtime period played. Additional overtimes will be played if needed to determine a winner. A game may not end in a tie. There will be no required playing time or substitutions required during this time period. 17. If a team is ahead by 20 or more points, they may not full court press. 18. Separate League Standings shall be kept for each division. There shall be no inter-league play. At the conclusion of the regular season, there would be separate tournaments for both leagues. During the post-season tournaments, there will be no substitution rules in effect. 19. Schools with multiple teams in the same age/gender division will be allowed to request a variance to allow for the division of teams prior to the 1st Saturday in November. All players must attend tryouts and play on the team for whidh they are selected. |
