BASE RULES:
TSSAA - NATIONAL FEDERATION OF HIGH SCHOOL ASSOCIATIONS
SEASON:
NOVEMBER 1 THROUGH THE LAST SATURDAY OF FEBRUARY.  PRACTICE MAY NOT BEGIN BEFORE NOVEMBER 1.
1. The Senior Formative Basketball League shall be divided into two separate divisions - varsity and junior varsity.  Both divisions shall play by the Senior Formative Basketball Rules.

Varsity League
Each school places one boys' team and one girls' team in this league.  There will be 2 divisions based upon a combination of 7th-8th grade enrollment and number of students electing to participate (trying out).  The largest schools (HRA, SES, SHS, and SJS) will place both boys and girls teams in the large division.  A school who has 20 or more girls in the 7th-8th grades and who has 15 or more trying out may be considered for the large division.  The same hold true for the boys.  In a twelve or thirteen team league, then the 2 schools with the most girls or boys trying out will be placed in the large division.  in a ten or eleven team league, then the one school with the most boys or girls trying out will be placed in the large division.  The divisions are for the end of the year tournaments only.  Each team plays each of the other schools at least once during the regular season.  Each game counts toward the overall records for tournament seeding.  There will be regular season trophies for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places in each division.  At the end of the season there will be 4 tournaments - Boys Large, Boys Small, Girls Large, Girls Small.  Tournament trophies will be given to the the first four places.

Junior Varsity League
All other teams will be placed in this league.  This league will have standings and a boys tournament and a girls tournament.
There  will be regular season trophies for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places in each division.  Tournament trophies will be given to the first four places.
